Spirituality or Delusion? Neptune in Aires March 30, 2025 - March 23, 2039

(Neptune briefly retrograded back into Pisces October 22, 2025 - January 26, 2026)

Neptune is the planet of spirituality but also all that is unseen and intangible and thus also rules the unknowable, delusion, ignorance, secrets, etc., and Neptune influences are equally capable of illuminating spirituality or entrenching delusion, and which effect it has is entirely dependent on the degree of egoism and control behaviors. Delusion is a coping mechanism we use to avoid things which make us uncomfortable, afraid, or feel like we have no control, while spirituality comes when we instead admit we have no control and work with life and fate rather than against it. As discussed in God is a Libra, anything which subverts the ego is spiritual while anything that serves the ego is delusion, and this makes it then very easy to evaluate whether we are having a delusional or spiritual Neptune transit, by admitting whether our fear and ego are invested into an outcome or whether we accept the conditions of life whatever they may be. Most of all, service to others is one of the most integral aspects of spirituality, because it directly subverts the ego to truly serve others (although it’s also possible to use service as a delusion when we use it as an excuse to control others or avoid responsibility), and all Neptune transits can be more pleasant and productive if we help others without concern for our own benefit. Below is a brief description of how Neptune’s transit through Aries specifically affects each Sun sign (to understand more about Neptune and Spirituality, read Under A Libra God). If you want to also know what you next transit will be like, read the summary in the sign before yours.

Aries

Neptune in Aires means it is in your Zodiac first house, which rules the self, so themes of identity, purpose, and even body image will be subject either to delusion or deep spiritual experiences. It is often difficult to understand whether we are delusional or spiritual, but as a naturally egoist sign you can be sure any friction or conflict surrounding your life purpose and sense of self is a product of delusion and self-centeredness, not spirituality, but which may lead you into spirituality if you are willing to make efforts to understand the humanity and motivations of others and how your sense of self and purpose can serve them without concern for our own benefit. First house transits can often be difficult, but in a more existential way, and may challenge ideas you long thought stable, reliable, or took for granted. Any changes which take place are meant to help you find your best path forward and to understand the depths of reality. It is possible to resist those influences entirely and develop a delusional worldview and sense of purpose, which will then be a major liability in the upcoming second house transit informed by the previous first. So trust that life has your best interests in mind and go with the flow, always orienting your struggles and fear toward being of use to others. Pisces just went through this transit from 2011, so ask them for some insight if you know any Pisces.

Taurus

Transits of the twelfth Zodiac house bring conclusions and endings and thus help us grow spiritually, and the twelfth house is also the natural house of spirituality, but also delusion, illusion, secrets, etc., so this transit is meant to tear down your delusions that we know everything and that nothing ever changes. This transit is most difficult for people who are tightly wed to what they think is spirituality, because the problem is that we do not define life or spirituality, and even if we have religious beliefs those are philosophy, not spirituality, which can become even painfully apparent during this transit if we delude ourselves to that reality. It is our job to learn what spirituality really is, and since subversion of the ego is the way to achieve spirituality it is likely your experience through others will draw you down spiritual paths if you are willing and open. Endings are also never really endings but merely a transition to the next thing, and life may ask you to let some things go so you can grow and mature beyond childish, selfish, fantasy coping mechanisms, and this transit will be a lot easier if you take yourself less seriously and devote more of your energy to being helpful. Aries just had this transit since 2011, so ask one for some insight or look at what they went through during that long period. Spirituality informs identity in the next house, so a healthy Neptune transit, rather than a delusional one, can set you up for a better experience that might otherwise occur in the upcoming first house transit starting 2039.

Gemini

Neptune is transiting your eleventh Zodiac house of friends and fortune until 2039, and while this is not a difficult influence there is no greater potential for disappointment than fake friends or losing material comforts and long held wealth, and those outcomes are more likely depending on the severity of our delusion, self-centeredness, and control behaviors. Realizing we have surrounded ourselves with yes-men and enablers can be demoralizing, but it is also empowering, and true friends and stability does not come from outside ourselves, but inside, as we learn what really matters in life and stop thinking about ourselves so much to instead care for others. A delusion that can be challenged during this transit is that you even need friends or wealth to be satisfied and happy, a lesson that might be learned only after losing those things through poor decision making or random events outside of your control. If you are uncompromisingly self-honest, refrain from control and manipulation and consider the needs of others more than what they can do for you, and then it is possible to cultivate a spiritual fortune vaster than anything this material world can provide. Taurus just went through this transit, so ask them about it.

Cancer

Neptune’s transit through the tenth Zodiac house is difficult by itself, but you also have Pluto transiting your eighth house of power and control, so refusing to give up control behaviors can and will lead directly to painful, significant losses in your public image if you are not careful to those up. The problem with this influence is that you will likely deny it completely, because of the delusional nature of Neptune, and will only realize this after much loss has come your way. We behave like this because we wish to have control over our life’s direction, and while we can show up for opportunity and do our best we can never actually control outcomes or fate, so not only will this behavior be ineffective it will also be futile and exhausting as you waste lots of precious energy trying to control everyone and everything, and even when we think we are not being delusional we may be even at our most delusional, such as thinking we can go it alone in life or that certain things are important which actually aren’t. While this challenge may seem demoralizing there is immense potential to achieve powerfully deep experiences and profound insight into the workings of life and the Universe if instead you give up control and turn it over to those forces which govern it, remembering that service to others and other subversion of the ego facilitates a spiritual Neptune transit while gratifying the go instead causes delusion, so orienting your life toward helping others without concern for what you get out of it can help a great deal whether you understand it or not. Geminis just went through this transit, so you can look at their experiences for a preview of this long transit—take notice especially of all the deluded, self-centered ones now seeing the consequences of those actions as former friends and allies abandon them and their reputation in ruins. That is all not only avoidable, requiring nothing more than letting go of control, but can bring immense rewards of a personal, immaterial nature far more valuable than our career or public image.

Leo

Neptune is now transiting your ninth Zodiac house of philosophy, Leo, which is not an especially difficult transit but it can absolutely lead you down a perilous life path that eventually leads to serious self-destruction, because who we are and what we do is built on the foundation of what we believe, which is the entire point of philosophy. Neptune not only rules the spiritual and delusional but also the unknown, and every Neptune transit has an aspect of ignorance and naivety which underlies our behavior, being too uninformed to even make effective decisions and sometimes not even knowing in the first place that we lack something. To surmount this challenge it is very useful to study and learn and be open to new ideas and viewpoints, but what we even choose to study and spend our time learning might be delusional too, so do not make permanent decisions about the usefulness of studies until you are sure that they are of real benefit to your future and your wellbeing. We can even be delusional about our best interests, and a clue to answering those dilemmas and deciding whether something is truth and spiritual or false and delusional is whether our philosophy pursuits serve the ego or subverts it—if it is the former and your philosophy and worldview is primarily concerned with yourself, power, control, or even fantasy you are absolutely headed in the wrong direction. If instead it requires you to grow, shed control behaviors, subvert the ego, and serve others without concern for your own benefit then it is probably better for you and a more spiritual, truthful Neptune path. Cancers just went through this transit but they are probably having a hard time with their current tenth house transit, so it might be a good idea to just observe their life from a distance as an example of what not to do rather than ask them about it.

Virgo

The transit of Neptune through the eighth Zodiac house does not need to be difficult, Virgo, but for most people it likely will be as we refuse to let go of our delusions and control behaviors. Because the eighth house is that of power and control, Neptune’s transit here is to delude even to where and what we can have control and power. The answer to this question is that we really only ever have control over our own choices and behaviors (not even our feelings are within our control!), so many attempts will be made to control things and people and we are really just wasting our time and efforts or even sowing the seeds of our own undoing. Very often this influence specifically covers shared resources such as spousal income, shared savings, or taxes, and this transit may tempt us to pretend we don’t have obligations or have more resources than we really do. In all transits which can encompass money and finances it’s important to remember that money is not real, but relationships are, and it is never our job to control others or force fate to bend to our will, and letting the Universe take care of those things (not by ignoring them, mind you, which is itself a control behavior) can liberate you from much frustration during this transit. Sex is also a point of control, so if you have a partner this transit can cause delusional bedroom control behaviors too, which will only serve to undermine the relationship in the long term. Because the eighth house can be transformative, if you are open minded, humble, helpful, and more interested in the wellbeing of others without benefit to yourself, have potential during this transit to derive great insight into the deeper workings of the Universe, if you are open to it. Just ask any Leo, who had this transit since 2011, especially those who seem to get it.

Libra

While transits through the seventh house are often difficult this one absolutely does not need to be. Many partnerships are a contest, between lovers or business partners for instance, but when we recognize the otherness in our partners, even and especially when they disappoint us, we can empathize with their humanity and recognize they have the same motivations as we do—wanting to be secure, loved, safe, successful, etc. People often make selfish decisions and stupid mistakes searching for those things, and we are all human and deserve compassion and patience, including to yourself, but if fear and self-interest motivate your behavior in partnerships during this time it will absolutely result in delusional behavior that will undermine your best interests. Tensions in relationships occur usually because we do grant ourselves patience, compassion, and care, and instead expect others to do it for us, which is a delusion. But if others also cannot do that for themselves they also cannot do that for us either, and isn’t that delusional to expect others to do for us what we are unwilling to do for ourselves? Many delusions about relationships will be sorely revealed during this transit depending on the degree of delusion we have toward our partnerships, and accepting the fact that we and others are mortal, trying out best, and limited in our ability to control life and fate we can instead reach satisfying, spiritual evolutions and insight into others, ourselves, and the dependent nature we humans have with one another. It’s even possible to build up a totally false idea of who our partner is, and we may be rudely surprised during this transit that they are not who we thought they were. In reality this is not their fault, even if they were deceitful, because we in relationships we usually tend to think about ourselves and what we need and willfully ignore inconvenient realities, but in partnerships we must also be motivated by the needs of others without neglecting our wellbeing, which produce more lovely experiences during this influence if we are not myopically focused on ourselves.

Scorpio

Neptune is going through your Zodiac sixth house, Scorpio, which governs our daily labors, meaning all the things we are obligated to do each day which include eating regularly, going to bed on time, doing work, taking care of our pets, cleaning the house, and generally all self-care and work responsibilities. During this transit it is very common to have mysterious and unexplained health problems since Neptune also rules the unknown and the unseen, and during this transit I did not discover that cystic fibrosis was the underlying cause of all my health problems until nine years in. This does not mean you should be hypochondriac, but if you do feel something is wrong something probably is, but the solution lies not in some exotic cure or supplement routine or even discovering exactly what’s wrong, although that can help, but in taking care of your body every day, having a healthy diet, a regular routine, and compassion for your mortal limitations. For instance it is highly delusional to think we can starve and diet and expect our health to be unaffected. During this time work and professional success or advancement is also often frustrating or limiting if it is not oriented toward service to others, so if you feel unfulfilled and frustrated go back to basics and orient your life in ways that actively seek to help everyone without concern for your own benefit and you will likely find immensely rewards. Unfortunately this influence does carry with it some risk of death if we are especially delusional or afraid and ignore serious health problems, but if you’re reading this on my site the odds are likely you’re not doing that anyway and just need to establish a consistent routine of self-care, good diet, and self-compassion, and such severe consequences only occur if we chose to ignore our wellbeing or control health and biology.

Sagittarius

The fifth zodiac house transit of Neptune can leave you mystified and frustrated when it comes to pursuing creative endeavors such as writing, art, building, filmmaking, but also all acts of creation such as love and sex, babies, or creating projects and organizations. Meeting new potential love interests who turn out to be disappointing or abusive is a common occurrence in this transit, because new erotic partners is the creation of love and partnership but we may delude ourselves as to whether we really want that person or are just settling or ignoring red flags for the sake of simply having them, or delusionally staying with someone even after we know they do not treat us the way they should and simply hoping they will change. Remembering the key to avoiding difficult Neptune transits is to get rid of all delusion, which incudes also our underestimation of ourselves and our own capabilities and even lack of self-worth, for instance believing our success relies on being discovered or helped by more powerful, connected people, rather than working from the ground up in the proper order to accomplish creation. Romantic delusions are also usually a consequence of disliking ourselves and seeking validation in others, rather than simply companionship, so resolving unresolved trauma, the most powerful self-care behavior, can help bring enlightenment and insight to make this an easier transit and help us establish spiritual connections with others which will last, unlike those which are based in delusion, and the level of partner we have access to is directly correlated to our level of unresolved trauma and control and coping mechanisms which must be resolved through inventory therapy. Thinking less about what we want and more how we can be of service will also make this transit more productive. Scorpio just went through this transit from 2011, so talk to them about their experience.

Capricorn

Neptune transiting the fourth house is one of the more difficult Neptune transits, because family are at the same time both so integral to our existence yet other people with their own unique personalities, desires, fears, insecurities, and control behaviors. Making matters worse, this transit also concerns the literal place of domicile, so factors like landlords, neighbors, plumbing and electrical, and size of the dwelling can be major problems which frustrate and confound problems concerning family. It is important to remember that this influence maintains a high risk of delusional behavior in which we see problems that might not actually be much of a problem, or think certain behaviors or problems are not really a big deal when in fact they very much are. Neptune transits also often accompany delusional behavior in which we believe our actions will not have consequences, but they always very much do, and in order to avoid delusional behavior we must instead actively seek a spiritual course which is limited to subverting the ego, finding compassion for others, for ourselves, patience, kindness, love, understanding, and being of service without concern for our benefit. This does not mean putting up with harmful behavior by others—it means handling it in ways which are responsible, kind, and compassionate and maintaining healthy boundaries, not only boundaries. Sagittarius just went through this transit since 2011, so you can learn a lot from their recent experience.

Aquarius

While Neptune’s transit through the third house is not significantly perilous in the short term it sets the stage for many future phases of your life in which knowledge is required to be effective, and being delusional about what knowledge is useful, or what even constitutes knowledge, can significantly imperil you in later phases of life. Neptune being the planet of both spirituality and delusion means that knowledge can also be found in spiritual experiences which subvert the ego, finding humility and engaging in service to others or allowing ourselves to be taught we might glean important knowledge we never otherwise might have. Knowledge is learned through the act of communication, and communication is the exchange of knowledge (even mundane knowledge as a casual conversation or discussion of politics), so experiences in vectors of communications such as publishing, writing, film, news, reading, studying, are all opportunities either for delusions or spirituality. For instance if we desire to be a published author we might delusionally write about things we think will make us popular and successful rather than what we truly like to write about (which in doing might expose our vulnerability, which subverts the ego), or we will be delusional about our skill and ability in either direction of underestimating or overestimating, or believe we have sufficient knowledge when in reality we lack it greatly. Insecurity often motivates delusional behavior, and all humans must engage in learning during the entirety of our lifetimes to acquire the skills we need to be effective, and it’s not only perfectly fine not to know something and to learn from others, but required. Pay attention, don’t ignore learning experiences, listen to many different points of view, apply and test the information you learn, then share it with others. Capricorn just went through this transit and many of them suffered from having their head in the sand too long, so look to their experience for more insight.

Pisces

The second house transit of Neptune is only stressful if you believe money and success to be of supreme importance. As a naturally spiritual sign you may already know that money isn’t real, and as such might have an easier time with this transit. But we can also be delusional in thinking that because money is real we do not need it, which is not explicitly true since we live in a society in which the contract of money is required to participate effectively, and delusional thinking can go both ways. This house especially rules how we get our money, so we might overestimate our skills or position and find it eventually fails to provide and so must find new sources, or we can be delusional about whether something is even a permissible way to earn money. Understanding whether it is spiritual or delusional is whether our positions and behavior serve fear, insecurity, and the ego or if it instead helps us serve others and accept the conditions of life and mortality. Every person who’s ever stolen from me had Neptune transiting their second house because of delusional ideas thinking they weren’t going to be okay financially (just ask for help!) or that there weren’t going to be consequences from stealing. Stay grounded, practice introspection, and don’t act on fear and this transit will be very pleasant as you discover more things of value in this life than money. Aquarius went through this transit before you, so ask them for some insight or look at their experiences.
