Uranus is the planet of unpredictability, revolution, technology, friends, and fortune, which serves to unmoor stagnant and stale structures and institutions to keep us from settling into unproductive or unhealthy patterns. In larger society Uranus is often associated with political and social revolution, but in our personal lives it revolutionizes old behaviors, relationships, stagnant living situations, boring jobs, etc., in order to keep our life in motion. Though not as long a transit as Neptune and Pluto, Uranus still occupies a sign for about seven years, which can sometimes feel like an eternity, especially when our heart is breaking or our health is unreliable. But like all influences it will eventually pass and let us move on to the next stage of life. The key to handling Uranus transits successfully is with some healthy levity and cynicism, and always prepare for surprises, good and bad, which will always occur in Uranus transits. Anyone who take themselves too seriously or is unprepared for upset will find Uranus transits very upsetting, but if you are prepared and relax a little you can get through them no problem.

Aries

Uranus is in your third zodiac house of knowledge and, like it or not (probably the latter), you will have many surprising or even undesired opportunities for exposure to knowledge or the need for knowledge. All life is based on knowledge, from learning to speak, how to hold utensils, what is healthy and what is not, how to succeed and how to do specific jobs, manage finances, or repair mistakes and maintain relationships. If knowledge comes your way pay attention and don’t discard it, because you won’t have such an empowering opportunity to prepare yourself in the future, and the entirety of your future is filled with transits just like the entirety of the past, which are best navigated with knowledge. Unfortunately this house also rules siblings, so there may also be much instability and unpredictability with anyone you grew up with (whether blood related or not). Uranus often teaches patience and preparedness (the hard way), but having compassion for those who are having a hard time can make this a bit easier to endure. It’s not all bad, and there will be pleasant surprises as well as bad.

Taurus

Uranus is taking you on a rollercoaster as it tears through your second zodiac house of means (finances and resources, or in other words: what we do for a living and how we earn our money). If you are especially attached to money, success, and material things it will be very difficult to persevere as you experience sudden loss of job or income source which challenges you to reshuffle many aspects of your life, since instability and finances to do not naturally go together. Hopefully you will learn about the fleeting nature of material things, that it’s always good to have savings and to live within your means, and that money is not the only thing of value.

Gemini

Congratulations! Uranus has arrived in your first Zodiac house of the self! Although this may be an unsettling influence at times you will also find a greater sense of who you are and what purpose and goals are more true to your real self than what you have been doing. It is entirely possible to learn nothing from this influence, and become more unstable and unpredictable than before as you seek to revolutionize your life in ways that are not actually helpful, in which case the following transit of Uranus through your second house of means will make your financial situation similarly unstable and frustrating. If you don’t know who you are and what really is important in life you will carry that lesson into the future, so use this transit to learn who you really are and what you really want out of life.

Cancer

Uranus is now in your twelfth house, so it is likely you will be surprised by unexpected endings, especially of old ideas of spirituality, or shocked by previously unknown secrets or people who act against you without your express knowledge. While this can be unpleasant it is very likely the things being destroyed by this transit do not in fact serve you, and you’ve required some shaking up to recognize harmful and even self-destructive behavior which must be gotten rid of. As humans we crave stability, but it is not really a thing that exists in life, with constant cycles of beginnings, growth, and endings that keep all life in constant motion. Coming to terms with the finite nature of reality can turn what appears scary and unstable to something wondrous and awesome as we get to have a livelier life than if we actually had the control we desire.

Leo

This transit of Uranus occurs in your eleventh house of friends and fortune which is naturally ruled by Uranus, but there is nothing worse than unreliable friends or surprise losses of wealth. But it’s okay, because in the end all relationships end and all wealth decays, and we are only left with ourselves and our experiences, a lesson that Uranus has been trying to teach you in its previous transits but which we ignore since stability and safety are default human desires. We can always make new friends and earn new wealth, but we can also be a friend to ourselves and look out for our best interests and learn to enjoy our own company. That would make us a more interesting and reliable person anyway. Uranus the upcoming transit of Uranus through your twelfth house can be especially unsettling if we do not learn the lessons of its transit through the eleventh, an exclamation mark on this journey of erratic discovery, which you can best prepare for by following those instructions to get to know yourself rather than waiting for others.

Tenth house transits are almost always stressful, and the transit of Uranus here will likely have you dealing with unreliable public perception and effectiveness in your career, sometimes even harassment, persecution, misunderstandings, and deception (deserved or not, although it is often deserved). The tenth house rules society, so it concerns our reputation and place within society, which for us today is typically in the capacity of our career, but this can also trigger our evolutionary survival instincts since we do generally rely on the group for our survival, and then many people handle this influence every poorly and, acting on fear, make it worse. Remember that public perception is insubstantial and fickle, and can be taken away as fast as it is earned, so basing our self-worth and life goals on what others think of us (especially those we don’t personally know) can truly lead us down the wrong path, and discarding morals as we scheme and try to control things that we can’t actually control will never turn out well. Always do what’s right, and when the dust settles you will be venerated.

Libra

Uranus transiting the ninth house can bring surprising and unexpected opportunities to expand the mind and learn things we might have never even considered possible, let alone real and valid. The problem with this transit is that the unexpected nature of this influence may also cause us to think it is fleeting or insubstantial but in fact there are very real and important things to learn during this transit which will be required for more challenging transits in the future, so pay attention and make sure you don’t miss the lessons of this transit, or discard ‘the baby with the bathwater,’ otherwise the more difficult upcoming transit through your tenth zodiac house will be far, far more difficult.

Scorpio

Uranus is now in your zodiac eighth house of power and control, will be frequently upsetting and also liberating. Scorpio is itself the sign of power and control, and control is all about stability and predictability which is the antithesis of Uranus, the planet of unpredictability, so much effort may be required to relax, take a breath, and go with the flow during this potentially tumultuous time. Previously you experienced Uranus in your house of relationships and probably found your partner to be unreliable and unpredictable, perhaps even resulting in separation, and those same lessons can be expected in areas of shared finances, sex (since sex inherently concerns control), or our general effectiveness. Most frequently this transit involves taxes, so keep some savings to make sure you can cover any unexpected new tax assessments. None of us likes being controlled, but during this transit you have no choice but to submit and be agreeable. Patience is always the best skill for surviving Uranus transits, because while they are somewhat long they do in fact end, as this one will very soon, and you will have pleasant surprises and not only bad ones.

Sagittarius

Unreliable partners are the most frustrating thing about life. We could just settle down and be happy if you would get your shit together! But being triggered by an unreliable or unstable partner during the transit of Uranus through the seventh zodiac house of relationships only makes this situation worse because they are also going through their own crises and need a strong foundation on which to rely. Don’t sacrifice your own best-interests, but make sure you don’t set needless boundaries simply for control, and that the boundaries you do set are actually healthy, otherwise you will scare off someone who may only need support and help (but if they are truly toxic it will be necessary to cut them off). This influence does not only pertain to romance, however, and business partners or any other partnership is likely also a source of unpredictable instability, which we can only handle by riding it out or cutting them out of our lives if needed.

Capricorn

Uranus transiting your zodiac sixth house of labors (work, health, responsibilities) will throw you occasional health and work curveballs you don’t see coming. Be patient and try your best to cope, and remember that Uranus can also deliver wonderful surprises in this area too and it won’t be all bad. It’s not possible to avoid the surprises that Uranus can bring, but you can be prepared for them by taking care of your health, eating regularly, getting sun daily, saving money, caring for your pets, and seeing to your other responsibilities.

Aquarius

The fifth house rules creation, and having Uranus here you might be blessed with unexpected opportunities to create art, design, projects, a new love affair, or even a child. What a great surprise! It could also mean you have to deal with unreliable and unpredictable children, love affairs, or projects that seem impossible to finish. That’s okay, because maybe it will keep your life exciting and interesting. Just don’t resent people (especially children) who are part of the instability because, like you, they are also trying their best. Let your creativity explode into the world.

Pisces

Uranus transiting your fourth house of home and family likely means that you will move or have problems with your home, landlords, or neighbors, and unpredictable and unreliable family members or events in your family that you didn’t see coming since this house rules both the actual place of domicile and those with whom we are related. Fourth house transits are always significant, and having a stable home is one of the things most desired by most people because it provides a sense of stability and security. Unfortunately stability and security are always illusions, and life is always in constant change and flux no matter how we desire otherwise, and we are blessed to have people in our lives for the time allotted and no more, and finding appreciation for what we do have can make the inconsistency of this transit much more bearable and those things we do have more precious than when we delusionally pretend they will last forever.
