Things Get Worse Before They Get Better

At the end of last year I posted an article, Cryptocurrency as a Lesson In Metaphysics in which I discussed a parade of planets opposing Uranus that would result in a significant decline for cryptocurrency which would be a great demonstration of the laws of metaphysics which underly reality such as what the practice of astrology seeks (but often fails) to describe. Most of us make the mistake of believing there are no laws of reality which govern such things as events and occurrences, but in fact all aspects of existence and not only our physical reality are governed by immutable laws and forces, and so there can be seen correlative patterns in all aspects of existence including the apparent motion of planets.

While I’m new to writing about astrology, it turned out entirely correct, and in order to prove the association of the transits I spent some time collecting data to create this graph superimposing the decline of bitcoin with the approaching opposition of the subject planets to Uranus. In addition to the several planets all making this alignment at the same time, which is not a common occurrence, Mercury (the green line) also went retrograde across the alignment, which further exaggerated its effect.

This obvious association with the behavior of cryptocurrency occurred because Uranus represents technology and revolution and, as a revolutionary technology, cryptocurrency is a perfect distillation of both (to be clear I do not support crypto, however, and believe most of it is a scam). But Uranus is also the planet of instability or unpredictability, and both technology and revolution are inherently unpredictable and unreliable since they are in essence the opposite of established structure and stability.

While astrology can be useful to anticipate possible future realties it cannot be used to precisely predict the future—mostly because the practice of astrology is a human design and language which is also subjected to our human limitations, mistakes, and shortcomings, and astrology is not itself the actual underlying rules and laws which govern the Universe but the human interpretation of those laws. It is thus perilous to attempt prediction with any certainty since doing so is inherently debilitated by human limitations. But we can still see upcoming patterns and compare them to past patterns and make reasonable assumptions about the future.

It doesn’t take a genius to see there is much conflict and stress occurring in the world at the moment, but this is not occurring for no reason, and right now we are experiencing the famous conjunction of Neptune and Saturn which occurs about every 36 years, which began last year and comes exact very soon on February 20, 2026. This conjunction is always associated with societal and governmental tumult, as discussed briefly in my last article on astrology, Countdown to Something Big in which I discussed the current fateful events occurring now at the publication of this article as the President of the United States is threatening to take Greenland by force, deploying the United States military and immigration enforcement agents against its own citizens in Minnesota, and the historic general strike and resistance by the heroic people of Minnesota. Saturn is associated with society, institutions like government, and rules and structure, while Neptune is associated with both spirituality and delusion, the unknown and unseen, and endings. These concepts are ultimately not well compatible, which is why these cycles are often fraught with conflict, but they do often result in the elevation of government to more humanist orientations, at least for a time. For instance, the fall of the Berlin Wall and decline of apartheid South Africa occurred at the last Neptune, Saturn conjunction, and those events and that which preceded and followed are an excellent guide for the kind of things we are experiencing at this moment.

Other transits which occurred last year and those which occur this year (and even next year) are also influenced by the conjunction and other current alignments. Later this year at the midterm elections in the United States from where most of the instability is emanating the planet Venus goes retrograde. Venus is the planet of partnership, love, and balance, and whenever it goes retrograde there is less love, less partnership, and more conflict than typical. Since this transit occurs around the elections and since the current leaders of the United States have made clear their fear of losing power and intentions to subvert democracy I am convinced this does confirm there will be attempts by the government to sabotage the midterm elections and prevent a change in power. This assumptoin is not only informed by general transits, but also by the personal astrology of the President and Vice President (such as can be done at Astro.com) which also indicate that this period of time for them personally will be marked by instability and profound attempts at control.

While this sounds ominous and may in fact result in a great deal of political conflict, I do not believe these transits portend victory for the current authoritarian government, merely attempts at it, as their current personal astrology and in the following years is clearly inauspicious, and instead is a karmic event of this current Neptune, Saturn conjunction in which the antagonist nature of the current leadership destroys the old structures and institutions which have kept us oppressed and facilitated great evil, since the liberal establishment order which governed before this administration refused to willingly dismantle or reform themselves, and while this process may be worrying or even frightening it is a necessary step in the resetting of society to set the future path in this new Neptune and Saturn cycle, and will eventually resolve during the first 1/3 of 2027.

Immediately before and during the Neptune, Saturn conjunction, after the first week in February, the parade of planets which opposed Uranus in November will also now square Uranus, but spread out a little more, and I believe this may possibly be an even more cataclysmic event than the crash in November (the Moon squared Uranus today and bitcoin dropped back to 88K), and might also be the anticipated implosion of the AI bubble and the massive economic consequences which will result that also will accompany and empower the Neptune, Saturn conjunction such as I discussed in my article The Death of Capitalism. These planets also march through the sign of Aquarius where Pluto is located, and Aquarius is the sign of revolution (ruled by Uranus), which likely favors the people in our struggle against tyranny and oppression. This will certainly be a time of instability, and if you don’t have a few month’s supply of non perishable food, now would be a good time to do so, just in case.

This conjunction with Neptune and Saturn is also quite unique because it is at the same time sextile both to Pluto, the planet of power and control, and Uranus, the planet of revolution and technology, which are each also trine to each other, forming a triangle. These alignments are typically considered auspicious, and likely represents that while there is stress and conflict it is not as violent or severe as what can occur at tense alignments such as square and opposition. I believe the alignment to Uranus is reflected in the people’s stirring finally to overturn the feckless, somnolent establishment and determination to remake government in the name of the people using technology such as social media. I’m not quite sure yet how the alignment to Pluto plays into this specifically, but that may become more clear in the future as events play out.

While this year will be especially tumultuous and we are all tired after years of sociopolitical conflict, the pandemic, and a poor economy it is important to remember that all generations have their societal upheavals and problems, and that even in times of instability we can find happiness and fulfillment.
