Civil War Part Deux
Anyone paying attention might have noticed the hyperpartisan political climate currently gripping many countries around the world, most especially in the United States. But it has become so widespread that people who avoid politics have probably been exposed to it in some manner, and if you thought that this climate bears resemblance to a brewing civil war you would absolutely be correct.
In 1861 at the time of the US Civil War the political conflict was largely centered around slavery, and while the Northern States at the time were generally against slavery and provided some refuge to people who escaped slavery in the South the entire country had also been founded on a genocide of the original indigenous inhabitants, and violence and murder are baked into its very bones, and it does not take much for a violent society to turn that violence inward since ideologies like racism, fascism, or political partisanship which underly political violence is entirely arbitrary for those committing that violence. A hunter hunting deer for instance is interested in getting food or hunting animals for sport, but whether you are an adversary to someone committing political violence is entirely up to the arbitrary and subjective opinion of the person committing that violence. I often mention how my work and worldview seeks to help everyone, including people who might view me as an adversary, and in spite of my efforts to help them continue to view me as their adversary for even the most specious of reasons, because human fear, bias, prejudice, and judgement are primary drivers of human behavior, even greater than our sense of self-preservation.
The similarity of the political tensions between then and now is not happenstance. In my book, Under A Libra God, I talk about how the resonant frequencies observed in the orbits of planets results in mathematical alignments that repeat throughout history. For instance, Jupiter and Saturn are within 1% of a 5:2 resonance, Saturn and Uranus are within 5% of a 3:1 resonance, and Uranus and Neptune are within 2% of a 2:1 resonance [1]. This occurs because the Universe operates on principles which can be described with mathematics, including events which occur on our level, and so these patterns repeat mathematically. But we arrogant humans influenced by religious institutions like the Catholic Church like to believe that these principles break down once we decide what to eat for breakfast or who we meet in passing and the beginning of a relationship, never mind the fact that we did not choose to be human, to be able to speak, to be born in the time and place we are or to whom we were born, nor the formative experiences we had growing up. Because of principles like the Law of Causality (cause and consequence) and the mathematical intervals of the laws of physics, patterns repeat throughout history which we can see reflected back at us in the correlative positions of the planets in orbit.
Zodiac chart for the outset of the US Civil War and a chart for today.
Remarkably, three of the five major planets are currently in the exact same signs they were at the beginning of the US Civil War. The United States, being explicitly ‘born’ on July 4, 1776, very obviously has the zodiac sign of Cancer (which is the blue, sideways ‘69’ glyph in the charts above), and the positions of these planets are relevantly calculated for the US from their relevant position to the sign of Cancer. Uranus, the planet of surprise, instability, and revolution (and friendship and technology) is located in the sign of Gemini which is the twelfth zodiac house for the sign of Cancer, and the twelfth house is the ‘last’ house in the zodiac and represents spirituality and delusion but also endings of cycles and beginnings of new ones, and transits to this house often cause the end of norms, institutions, or even the end of a country in its current iteration. The US civil war brought an end to the status quo, which at the time was chattel slavery, although slavery did live on through prison labor but we won’t get into that right now, as well as an end to the disunion between the North and the South which had prevailed for much of US history and the dissolution of political parties like the Whigs and the birth of new parties like the Republicans.
Venezuela, which is likely the zodiac sign of Aries (it’s difficult to tell exactly because their history is so long and convoluted) similarly had both Neptune and Saturn in their twelfth house when the Trump administration swept into their country and kidnapped their Head of State earlier this year. Neptune is the planet of spirituality but also delusion (it also rules the twelfth house and the correlating sign of Pisces) as well as secrets and the unknown, and this represented the delusion of Venezuela’s leaders in believing that things could continue as they had and the sneak attack from the United States which effectively ended the status quo in Venezuela which will now begin a new cycle of identity and purpose. The nation state of Israel which is likely the sign of Taurus also now has Neptune and Saturn in their twelfth house (Neptune and Saturn transitioned signs in February) and will likely see a similar fate very shortly, which will come as a surprise to absolutely nobody considering their heinous behavior and significant internal turmoil.
Preceding the years leading up to the US Civil War, Neptune was, as recently, also in the US’s ninth house of philosophy which means that the collective philosophical position of the country was founded in delusion but later evolved through difficult experiences to one which was more enlightened. Back then the delusional philosophy was that the practice of slavery could be partitioned, allowing some states to enslave people while others could reject it. But slavery is evil and cannot be tolerated anywhere and the conflict culminated in the country being forced to recognize the evil of slavery and then later eradicating that gross philosophy from the national position. Neptune is newly in our 10th house, which follows the 9th house which similarly made bare the disparity between our perception of ourselves as a country which does good with the actions of our country which are literal murder, war, genocide, and exploitation of people, workers, and the resources of other countries. It also seems that our fixation on wealth might also be evolving, with more people recognizing how money fails to fulfill many of our needs as human beings and that we require many things which are not money in order to have a fulfilling life, as materialism seems to be waning from the collective conscience, not because we are altruistic but because the cost of living and usurpation of resources by the evil rich is forcing that realization upon us.
At the outset of the US Civil War Saturn was also square to Uranus while Jupiter was also square to Pluto at the very moment Mars moved conjunct to Uranus which ignited the first conflict (the Battle of Fort Sumter). So the presence of Uranus there described a surprise rebellion and conflict between ‘friends’ since it was in tension with Saturn which is the planet that correlates with government, rules, and institutions. While I am drawing comparisons between the Civil War and now, I do not think that an actual civil war is imminent. Pluto back then was in the US’s eleventh which also rules revolution (the home of Uranus), but is currently in the US’s eighth house of power (which admittedly could still be problematic though). Civil wars require arming separatist elements willing to give their lives, and too many Americans love their MacDonalds, television, and gas-guzzling SUVs to sacrifice their comforts in a needless war of choice, and the alignments are not catalytic enough to imply war but there will be more political chaos and violence in the future, not less, which I see in the patterns similar but not identical to those which occurred in 1861.
At the start of the US Civil War, Jupiter was as it is now also in the US’s zodiac second house of means which rules earned money, values, resources, and specifically governs how money is earned which, back in 1861, was in no small part through enslaved labor, and being squared to Pluto (control and power) at the time was a primary motivating factor in the secession of the South which catalyzed the civil war as they wanted to continue using slavery as a source of means. Neither Jupiter nor Uranus currently have such confounding factors so while the US is experiencing an evolution of its financial mechanisms as discussed in my article The Imminent Collapse of the US Financial System this is not part of the tension currently fueling the current hyperpartisanship and another reason why the current situation is not exactly like those which catalyzed the civil war. Jupiter will, however, square Uranus in the US’s third zodiac house on September 10 of next year (2027), so if any kind of civil war or civil conflict might be catalyzed (conflict is more likely than an outright war) it would happen a year from now, and because the third house rules knowledge and communication the revolution will be channeled through the internet and social media. Jupiter last squared Uranus in 2021 which fueled the social conflict that occurred during the coronavirus pandemic, and since Jupiter moves quickly through the zodiac it frequently squares Uranus and there is not always civil war when this occurs, so it is more likely to not be outright war but simply a conflict.
Neptune and Saturn were also recently conjunct as discussed in my article Countdown to Something Big, which is a major astrological cycle which always concerns changes in government and societies because Neptune (spirituality and delusion) is not inherently compatible with Saturn (government and institution), but always seeks to force government into a more spiritual function and thus is usually and often also concerned with socialism at these aspects (the rise and fall of the USSR both occurred at a Neptune, Saturn conjunction, for instance). Since this occurred early this year what we are seeing is also a new evolutionary cycle of government moving toward the benefit of the people and the power of the people which the establishment is fighting tooth and nail to prevent, and the more power that the people get the more desperate and violent the establishment will get as the cycle evolves (for instance there will be an event related to this conflict in 2033-2034 when they move to a square).
This year on December 13 both Mars (action) and Venus (partnership) will be inconjunct Saturn (government) in the US’s tenth house (also government, institution), while Mars is also square Uranus (technology) and Venus is square to Pluto (power), and I believe this is the day when the Trump administration will try to declare martial law or some other major shenanigan meant to deter seating of the new congress, or it could be a day of resistance to those efforts which will be occurring all throughout the midterm elections as described in The Imminent Collapse of the US Financial System.
While this period will be chaotic and the economic and financial state of the country will continue to deteriorate into 2027-2028 these are the events of our age like any in History and will eventually play out as the Universe intends. For us as individuals we are not capable of altering world events, and our job is simply to show up for opportunity and to do our best. Help others, practice self-care, inventory therapy, and learn how to better listen to the Universe that we may find joy in the mundane and realize what is most important in life as discussed in other articles in this spirituality section like How to Adult, Which Karpman Type are You?, or Understanding Reality.
