Jerma985’s Bad Habit

I am a terrible self-promoter, which is one reason I don’t have an enormous audience, but truthfully this is in part because I do not really want to be doing any of this and would rather make film or video games. Most people engaged in health and wellness are instead seeking to be influencers or health professionals, not creating actual science, and the bare bit of social media and content I create (like this website) is meant to help others, not to produce ‘content,’ so that those who need help can access my work and research.

In spite of this I often directly offer assistance to people in need. Sometimes this is in person but since I don’t have much of a social life it is often in the online space, such as social media. Although I have many people seek out my help and read my writing and research not one single person to whom I have offered assistance unsolicited has ever taken me up on it. Most simply ignore me and pretend I haven’t, but a great deal of them have literally told me to go fuck myself, or kill myself (already tried both, thanks), or ganged up on me and called me names, which was an incredibly surprising response because when I was dying from depression and cancer the thing I wanted most was help.

Of course, this response could be entirely due to my manner and approach. As someone with autism I am not especially skilled at interpersonal interaction and will regularly transgress social taboos in my zeal to help make the world a better place. But mostly I have observed that human behavior is desire for control over reality, and accepting help, especially from a random stranger on the internet, means surrendering control not only to reality and the conditions of mortality, which we loathe to do, but to another human who could potentially use that control and power to further exploit or injure us, imagined as it may be, and even my own relatives ignore or belittle me when I try to help them with their problems.

The strangest dichotomy of this dynamic is that if I tell someone that I have experience with cancer and understand the underlying mechanisms rooted in the pathogenic dysregulation of mitochondrial silicon and the electron transport chain through which mitochondria produce energy (ATP) they will nearly always, even hearing those big words, consider me with suspicion and contempt no matter what possible chance it might be useful to them. If you search the internet (at the time of this writing) there is not a single person of the literal billions who inhabit this world besides myself—not even fraudsters—who claim to have solved the Warburg Effect, which is the underlying mechanism of most cancer, because such a claim first requires knowledge of the Warburg Effect at the very least, and no scientists have yet found it and no lazy fraudsters even know of it, and a solution to the Warburg Effect is also easily testable and reproducible so that it is easily proved or disproven, and any scientist making this claim would need sound insight and experimental results for confidence in such a claim. So the fact that I can explain the solution to the Warburg Effect and show my work and research should allow people to make their own evaluation, which is required in real science, yet almost nobody will even hear what I have so say, let alone do that. BUT if another person, even a stranger, tells someone else the very same information I would give, that person is far more likely to accept the possibility and investigate, even though it is the exact same information, so the only people who have come to my work are those who have seen it elsewhere and not those I have tried to help directly, which is especially frustrating since it is the human ego and not actual scientific hurdles which prevents me from actually making a difference.

This kind of behavior is rooted in our evolutionary social and behavioral adaptations which underlie human behavior and survival instincts, and most people who openly share their health problems are usually doing it for content and attention rather than assistance, while those who would welcome assistance usually do not actually share their problems, so offers of help undermine their intention and they get angry and resent us not for trying to help but for undermining their ambitions.

This is why when fraudsters claim to have insider information for a great trade deal or a superfood healing miracle we readily believe them since, again, the principle desire of the human ego is control over reality, and riches and magical subversion of death is ironically appealing where submitting to reality in admission of powerless and accepting help that would actually benefit us is not. I once visited the instagram account of Bryan Johnson, the billionaire fraudster who dyes his hair and calls himself young, seeking to ‘achieve immortality’ which is a demonstrably impossible feat that will never occur even after we know every single thing about the human body since it takes nothing more than a bullet, a car accident, or a well-timed asteroid to eliminate us from existence, and was saddened to see that more of my friends and family actually follow him on social media than myself, because what he promises is control over life, which is impossible, but exactly what most people desire.

Around 2017 or 2018 a random person familiar with my work sent me a message online and recommended that I look into the practice of Muscle Control which was developed by a man named Maxick in the early 1900s. Unlike how most people have responded to me I did not ignore him or tell him to go fuck himself but thanked him for the recommendation and looked into it. If I had found a ridiculous or useless philosophy I could simply not have taken his advice, but instead I found the most effective physical training strategy I have ever encountered (as a former competitive swimmer and recreational lifter and athlete) which has now benefitted my life for years. The rage and contempt which most people exhibit during offers of help or advice is truly psychotic, especially considering we do not need to take anyone’s advice, and is rooted in unresolved experiences of trauma as children when our helplessness was a liability to our wellbeing, although it wasn’t really and was instead caused by abusive and opportunistic adults. What this behavior primarily does is to prevent us from finding solutions to our problems as we throw out the ‘baby with the bathwater,’ and destroy potentially beneficial interpersonal resources through blatant and inappropriate antisocial behavior, literally hurting people who (most of the time) are just trying to help you. In truth I often fantasized that helping someone such as a woman my age with chronic migraine I saw online who lived near me might actually lead to a friendship through the sharing of experiences and dialogue about the underlying biology and science, and we would go get coffee together and she might have me over to dinner with her adorable family and I might become someone they call Uncle Nathan even though we aren’t blood related, but who instead just did not reply to me at all and assumably still suffers migraine, unlike myself who has now not had one in nearly 2 years. Content creators and journalists @erininthemorning and @taylorlorenz are people who constantly suffer migraines and, having suffered myself, cannot believe ANYONE would refuse offers of help as migraine is probably the worst pain ever (I say as someone who has not undergone childbirth), and yet in spite of multiple attempted interactions and their relatively small audiences was roundly ignored…and this is not amongst a sea of offers of assistance either, and both regularly engage people who hate and criticize them, so perhaps I should have pretended to hate them to trick them into reading about the Cause and Cure of Migraine?

Social media is often used as outlet for stress for people dealing with personal challenges, from cancer to depression to weight and aging it is a natural human need and desire to receive support from other people. But it is often demanded or expected that others only commiserate with us and not offer help or assistance, and those like myself which have tried to help are often insulted and attacked as if we have actually done something wrong or offensive. Of course, many people use their personal problems as ways to get attention and control, and that is especially manipulative but also self-destructive since while doing this might elicit pity and attention it does not build genuine, secure relationships and fails to resolve our actual peril.

Yet desiring to help others, especially people we don’t know, is also a control mechanism no matter how magnanimous it might seem, because the motivation I feel for wanting to help others is because their suffering also makes me feel upset. I want the genocide in Palestine to end, for instance, because the murder and displacement of men, women, and children is horrifying to me, and witnessing it makes me question everything about humanity I previously believed. Someone posting about how their husband or wife or nephew or child is currently dying of cancer on social media causes me great stress, especially since I know how to help, and my selfish desire is for a world in which there is no suffering, only peace and happiness, which is quite selfish (and unrealistic) indeed.

The sharing of our personal problems is, however, an inherently a selfish act as it seeks to recruit emotional support, asking that others help us shoulder our emotional stress and imposing on their emotional resources. So the refusal to in turn listen to them offering help and desiring likewise to be relieved of their own emotional stress witnessing our suffering is highly calloused and manipulative. This behavior is a blatant control mechanism, our desire to feel power over our environment, especially when traumatic experiences like cancer or depression remind us of how powerless we actually are, and instead seek to find that power through exploitation of others’ emotional vulnerability. This dynamic of human triangulation is explained in accurate detail by the work of Dr. Stephen Karpman which I discuss somewhat in my book, The Perfect Child, and this article What Karpman Type Are You?, and the end result is preventing progress in the goal of making life better for all of us, because information exists which is useful and helpful, even known by those with which we may not be socially or politically affiliated, and viewing others as threats to our wellbeing, especially when their actions are offers of help, is rooted in trauma and desires for control, but not reality. As an example, during the pandemic many people on the left ridiculed right-wing skeptics about their use of the antiparasitic ivermectin in the treatment of COVID because coronavirus was a virus and not a parasite. Unknown to both sides of the political spectrum, however, parasites function in part by inhibiting the immune system so use of an antiparasitic like ivermectin in those who were most vulnerable to coronavirus, because they were parasitized which is why they are unhealthy, would actually improve their prognosis and survival rate, and those on the ‘left’ who thought themselves knowledgable, rational, and supporting science were in fact nothing of the sort, and simply rejected that information because of bias.

The one time I was not ignored or belittled for trying to help someone came from the moderators for streamer Jerma985, who is and has been one of my favorites since I discovered him during the pandemic and his stream of the game Elden Ring. Jerma is incredibly funny and kind and his content helped me through years of isolation and research as I struggled to gain insight into my cystic fibrosis. When I told his moderators I had written a book which addressed Jerma’s chronic, public, debilitating struggle with gut health they thanked me and passed on my book. It has been apparent that he didn’t read it, however, and I understand that having some internet stranger you’ve never heard of give you their enormous book might not be very compelling, but I am tired of having the knowledge to help others and yet being unable to do so because of mistaken ideas of health and medicine and am no longer asking permission, so as to help others who may be in similar distress.

For the entirety of my twenties I suffered the same debilitating gut problems as Jerma, yet finally resolved them after a date with a nurse who suggested I might be allergic to gluten and immediately cut it out of my diet. Jerma has received various, vague diagnoses such as colitis or IBS and prescription medications which have clearly failed to do anything to resolve the problem as it drags on now, for what I can tell, many, many years, and on a recent stream Jerma related his doctor’s advice that his condition had nothing to do with diet but I can empirically say that is absolute bullshit since his own fucking doctors have failed to resolve his gut problems in spite of even invasive tests as colonoscopies, never mind that the entire function of the digestive tract is to process what we put into our mouths. One of Jerma’s common habits is drinking herbal tea such as peppermint, but he doesn’t know about the depolarizing effect of the menthol terpenoid on the enterocytes of digestive mucosal tissue which DIRECTLY facilitates pathogenic ingress into the gut lining to cause intense pain and even bleeding and eventual worse problems like gut cancer, because probably five people on the entire planet (not including my readers), actually know that information. Nor does he know that pathogens use iron such as is added to all iron-fortified common wheat in commercial breads, pizza, pasta, etc., to grow and spread (iron is required for growth) and gain access to our tissues through oxidative damage, because not even his doctors know about such biology as they are not educated about diet and nutrition in medical school, and the fact that actively drinking depolarizing terpenoids such as occur in the mint family actively sustains the colitis and suffering by breaking down a natural defense mechanism (polarization) by which our body protects itself against invasive microbial pathogens.

Recently on a post by content creator @realtorkaitlin on Instagram, whom is very funny and I love, her nephew was dying (and then died) of lymphoma. Stressed and understandably wanting resolution she insisted on using ‘evidence based medicine,’ for treatment of cancer in condemnation of people offering unsolicited heath advice. No doubt many of those people were annoying, and since none of them know the cure to cancer they couldn’t possibly be offering a cure, but every one was similarly stressed at the experience her family was going through and simply wanted to help, and if the doctors caring for her nephew were in fact using ‘evidence-based’ medicine as she claimed HER NEPHEW WOULD NOT HAVE FUCKING DIED. Prior to discovering the cause of the Warburg Effect nobody has yet known the cure to cancer, so claiming that any commercial cancer treatment is ‘evidenced based’ is just fucking delusional and not itself based in any ‘evidence’ whatsoever. Chemotherapy itself was developed from an incorrect belief that cancerous tumors need to be destroyed or killed, but they are in fact our own human tissue in which pathways that facilitate healing remain chronically activated due to interference by opportunistic pathogens, which is why they grow excessively, and chemotherapy originates from medical traditions of cutting or cauterizing tumors practiced since ancient times when doctors believed in ‘humors’ and ‘blood letting’ and has nothing to do with scientific evidence. The delusional desire that the medical establishment is an authority on life and wellness is understandable since death, especially of a loved one, is completely devastating. But chemotherapy drugs are extremely expensive and make pharmaceutical companies HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS OF DOLLARS, and it is entirely against their self-interests to find a cure for cancer or even use ‘evidenced-based’ medicine. We are also not capable of commanding reality, and life does not care what we desire, and just because doctors have authority in human institution does not mean their authority is necessarily legitimate, and promoting this kind of fake, ‘evidenced-based’ bullshit in support of a predatory pharmaceutical industry causes yet more people to die, conditioned to serve authoritarianism which has not even proved deserving.

During my early research I also watched a lot of Minecraft creators, and often played Minecraft on stream while readers and chatters could come in and talk about their health problems. One of my favorite creators at the time was a streamer named Technoblade, one of the funniest people and someone with incomparable morals and unimpeachable kindness, and after watching his content for several years I was, like millions of others, devastated when he was diagnosed with cancer and tried to get my work to him which was understandably impossible seeing as how literal millions of others also sent him well wishes and other communications, and watched helplessly as he died from his illness a short time later. Yet knowing the cause of the Warburg Effect also does not give me control over death or mortality, only the ability to make better informed health decisions and to thus be more effective. But the reason the Warburg Effect was not solved for 100 years in the first place even though we as a species made many other incredible technological advances is the ‘search for a cure’ was similarly rooted in delusional human behavior and the desire to control biology and fate, which we cannot do, as scientists instead searched not for a cure to cancer but for products to sell to cancer patients. My own cousin whose child had cancer refused even to respond to my offers of help and not only nearly lost her child but she also came down with a potentially life-threatening infection, and as chemotherapy failed to make her child well she finally searched for alternative treatments elsewhere and found from other similar independent health advocates how the use of dietary cyanide could support cancer recovery and finally saved her daughter, and she would have known that from me at the very outset had she not been such a prick and risked her daughter’s life just to spite me for trying to help her.

Another streamer I absolutely love is the political commentator Hasan Piker. He is a progressive activist and analyst and one of the funniest and kindest people producing content (but is frequently mischaracterized and vilified by establishment operatives since he effectively challenges their hold on power). But almost the entirety since I have been following Hasan he discusses his fitness and diet and “struggles” with weight, often using low-carb or calorie restriction strategies to get leaner, and lifts weights and consumes protein to get muscular. This has sometimes paid off for him because, as I discuss in F*ck Portion Control, young people are far more resilient to stress and starvation since they have not yet accumulated as many years of stress and opportunistic microbial colonization as those whom are older or burdened with metabolic illness, and Hasan is extremely good looking and epitomizes manhood. But Hasan also made common observational errors and mistook his diet and exercise for the causal factor in previous weight loss when in fact he commonly exercised outside, getting generous exposure to sunlight and thus vitamin D which is one of the primary factors in weight, leanness, and immune resistance to opportunistic microbes which are the real cause of weight gain. Hasan has also discussed his concern with hair loss and mentioned he takes finasteride, which functions by blocking the active form of testosterone, dihydrotesterone (DHT), but because he has only listened to mainstream, accepted, incorrect conceptions of male-pattern hair loss as being caused by DHT, which is not correct at all, he doesn’t know that DHT is the hormone responsible for the most masculine physical traits such as cut, lean muscle, and that without DHT we lose muscle definition, put on weight, and exhibit hair that is more light and fine like women’s (although with Hasan’s Turkish ancestry his hair is already exceedingly thick), and so he continually struggles with fitness, thinking wrongly it is his diet which sabotages his waistline and definition instead of the ‘medicine’ he takes on a daily basis which actually does not do anything to stop hair loss anyway.

Pathogens also disrupt hormone balance in a similar way, especially common parasites like Trichomonas which are spread through the human population unchecked in those with diets low in polyphenols and other protective factors or lack daily sun exposure and thus vitamin D, and when we contract them as children are the underlying cause of cystic fibrosis as I have also discovered in my work, not genetics as has so wrongly been accepted, so we can also have this same problem due to diet and environment without using pharmaceuticals, but the absence of actionable knowledge is the primary debility which prevents resolution of all health problems. Some knowledge we do not yet know, but there are literally MILLIONS of studies available and even those which are seemingly disparate or come to contradictory conclusions by their authors have so much useful information I was able to tease apart the codex of human biology as is reflected in my books because I started in the right place thanks to the work of Dr. Peat. Some asshole once said it was impossible for one person to have discovered the solution to the Warburg Effect and so I couldn’t have possibly done so, and while that is not at all a technically true premise, and I simply blocked them instead of arguing, my work is built on over 4,000 scientific studies, so literally hundreds if not thousands of other scientists helped me find the solution, not to mention the hundreds of people who have financially and morally supported my work, and I did not, you stupid fuck, do it on my own.

One of the most frustrating examples of this problem is a science YouTuber, Physics Girl, whose channel I found around 2020 and loved her science content and enthusiasm for science. But around 2023 Dianna came down with a devastating combination of long covid and CFS which caused her to be bedridden. Having understood at the time more about the human immune system than even virologists at the CDC who errantly promised a single vaccine to treat COVID (there was no way this would happen since vaccines do nothing beyond activating our own immune system) and cured my COVID infection TWICE in about 48 hours each time (possibly three times but not entirely sure) and after more experience helping others with COVID or Long-COVID I wrote an article about Long COVID and tried to offer help to her through various channels but was understandably not seen, or perhaps ignored. But her long COVID became even life threatening, and then it dragged on for a full year, then two, and now to three though thankfully she is starting to recover, kind of. NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON of the thousands who read and use my work got long covid, or even had a significant experience from COVID if they used my advice for it, because the effective support of the immune system as described in my work was, unlike mainstream cancer treatment, actually fucking evidence based and informed by many, many studies on virology and the human immune system. I kept trying so many times to send my research to Diana and her people there is no way none of them saw it, especially as engagement on her channels declined due to her inability to produce content, and of all people I thought, errantly, that a fucking science communicator might objectively receive data and information to use in the practical application such as treatment of long covid. But like many people and content creators they are not actually interested in science, nor do they practice it, but instead prefer institution and authoritarianism, and so end up bedridden due to ignorance of biology, which is especially ironic.

When I was a young man I oppositely never told anyone about my depression because I was concerned about burdening them, and when I did finally share my experience with people like my parents they simply condemned me and told me to go to church and pray. While that was the kind of harmful advice I did not wish to receive I had also already tried that and knew it didn’t work (as did they), and so instead I continued searching for answers elsewhere. Unfortunately the medical establishment also offered only marginal psychotherapy and unhelpful pharmaceutical products, as like cancer they are not interested in curing depression but selling products to those who are depressed. MattXIV is an adorable content creator, who is a little bit to my political right though, who is open and transparent about his struggle with depression and use of antidepressants. While he seems to be doing well, most antidepressants have significant side effects, especially things like preventing orgasm or even increasing the risk of suicide since they are mostly based in the incorrect conception of serotonin as the hormone of happiness. Serotonin is instead a hormone of torpor, and can appear to have therapeutic effects but is more like being tranquilized than achieving happiness, and it is dopamine that is the true mediator of happiness, though prejudice to dopamine and vilification of ‘reward seeking behavior’ prevents scientists, researchers, medical professionals, and lay persons alike from recognizing what is so plainly true. I doubt highly Matt saw my offers of assistance, since he literally also has millions of followers (but occasionally posted responses to direct messages), but I specifically asked what his long term plan was for his depression? Does he intend to remain dependent on medication his entire life?

Many people discuss conditions of depression and their treatment as if we have no great options, but in reality we are simply ignorant to the underlying biology and effective options due to indoctrination toward authority and institution rather than what is true. Many people and most women and gay men regularly diet and starve themselves in pursuit of sexually attractive bodies, as did I in my youth, but metabolic vitality and dopamine are some of the first casualties of low-carb and starvation, and it is impossible to be happy on an empty stomach as dopamine is a reward mechanism for those who actually take care of their physical health. I regularly get people off their medications in mere weeks, and total resolution of depression in mere months (often with their doctor’s help, if they actually follow the information in my books, since most doctors are actually interested in the health of their patients). When I wanted to recover from depression there was no cure due to the same issues which impair cancer research, and there was never going to be intentional, total resolution of my depression until years later when I began doing my own academic work, pointed in the correct direction by Dr. Peat and the many other accomplished scientists on whose work ours is founded (and the many people online who shared and discussed his work and other useful information), and discovering the cause and cure to depression was one of my first accomplishments which has now been offered freely on this website for the last TEN YEARS, unlike pharmaceutical companies which prefer you to be indefinitely dependent on their products for profit, and if all my friends, associates, acquaintances, and contacts had listened when I offered to cure their depression as I had my own imagine how many might now be freed of its accursed burden?

Expecting people to be emotional receptacles for our stress is an inherently exploitative behavior, and nobody should share their problems with others unless we are willing also to receive advice and feedback, because emotionally burdening others is entirely selfish and harmful and inconsiderate to their wellbeing, and we are not obligated to follow people’s advice anyway, only to be kind and considerate. But we should share our problems and welcome advice and support, and take only what is useful, or share how we overcame problems and thereby empower others with knowledge to do the same, and anyone reading this should talk about the health problems of people who share them publicly, and of your own, and give advice if you have knowledge and experience, because others who are suffering may see your advice or experience and be helped by it, and the only reason I ever got better was because I, unlike most people posting their health problems on social media, actually listened.
