Astrology, Really?

No one feels more silly talking about astrology than myself. In one moment I will be discussing the role of opportunistic microbial pathogens like Porphoromonas gingivalis or parasitic Trichomonas protists in the etiology of cystic fibrosis and chronic immune dysfunction and then in the next discuss how the influence of Saturn shapes our experiences of structure and responsibility.

It turns out, however, as discussed in my new book, Under A Libra God, that while the practice of astrology is often specious and opportunistic there is in fact an underlying natural phenomena arising from the natural laws which make up everything in the Universe which can be seen reflected back at us in the behavior of heavenly bodies and what the practice of astrology (no matter the type of discipline) seeks to describe, which our ancestors have used for literally several millennia. Astrology is also the only spiritual discipline or practice which actually contains math, and was in fact the first science, originating from ancient Babylon, and while many people enjoy astrology or find it intriguing the widespread taboo against astrology actually has its roots in the Catholic church and their domination of science, learning, and education throughout the middle ages in which Catholic theologians desired that fate not exist in order that all humankind might be personally responsible for everything which happened in their lives. Indeed it was often considered heresy to say that the Earth orbited the Sun until there was sufficient science to prove geocentrism false.

But famous astrologers like Pythagoras and Galileo (yes, Galileo!) knew that the Sun did not orbit the Earth, and that the Sun was at the center of the solar system, and their study of astronomy was also in service of astrology and not only astronomy. In fact, the two were not even considered distinct disciplines until about the 16th and 17th centuries. Pythagoras lived two-hundred years before Aristotle and yet Pythagoras knew the Earth orbited the Sun while Aristotle believed wrongly that the Earth was the center of the Universe. It is not often discussed that Galileo was a prominent and prodigious astrologer who taught astrology to his students and offered astrological services to his patrons. Galileo did not do this because he was an ignorant, ancient thinker but because, like most of the early scientists and mathematicians, saw the observational corollary which occurred between structures and cycles in the greater solar system with events here on Earth, because everything in the Universe, not only physical matter, is governed by immutable laws of nature.

It turns out then that the underlying phenomena which astrology seeks to describe is actually real, but that does not mean that the practice of astrology itself is necessarily accurate, legitimate, or effective, and in fact there are still many intriguing deficiencies and errancies in traditional astrology which, like other deficiencies in physical sciences I have solved, are also rectified in Under A Libra God. As a natural extension of my research and resolution of illness both physical and psychological, the understanding of metaphysical reality and the patterns, influences, and fates which affect the long arc of our lives and spiritual nature can greatly advantage us to be more effective in our choices and behaviors. To that end I have added this new section on Spirituality to my website which will collate my work of a spiritual nature and include fun and interesting insights using astrology.

If you want to more easily find purpose, peace, fulfillment, understand the workings of the Universe, and get rid of insecurity, fear, frustration, and feel more effective in your own life read my new book and study the concepts discussed in it, which will further empower you to act effectively and understand big questions like why are we here and what is the purpose of life.
